On Tuesday, September 18th we will begin the process of moving in-patient services from Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital (CRCH)to their new home at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH).
The process will continue through the end of the week.
Here is a brief outline of the expected timing of events:
September 18th, 7:00 a.m.
- CRCH will stop admitting NEW obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal patients. All new obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal patients will be admitted to CRMH after 7:00 a.m.
September 18th, 8:00 a.m.
- Labor & Delivery patients begin moving from CRCH to CRMH (patients who have not delivered babies yet)
- NICU patients begin moving from CRCH to CRMH
September 18th, 1:00 p.m.
- Patients in the Mother-Baby unit of CRCH will begin moving to CRHM. (patients who have already delivered their babies)
September 20th, 7:00 a.m.
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Unit patients will move from CRCH to CRMH
September 20th, 10:00 p.m.
- Emergency Department at CRCH will close – all emergency patients will be treated at CRMH
September 21st, 7:30 a.m.
- The former emergency department at CRCH will re-open as an urgent care center, and will be open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
News media coverage on Moving Days:
- Members of the news media will not be allowed on the property at CRCH or CRMH during the move to allow staff members to focus full attention on the patients and the move itself.
- Ambulances moving patients from CRCH to CRMH will be visible from the public areas around CRCH.
- Status reports and updates for the media will be posted at regular intervals on this blog site.
- At some point during the move, someone will be available for on-camera interviews. Check this blog for time and place.
