In honor of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital (CCCH) will host a read-a-thon celebration and book giveaway to all children with appointments at the pediatric clinics on Jefferson St. and First St. This event is part of Carilion Clinic’s “Reach Out and Read” program promoting literacy awareness. The read-a-thon will be highlighted by “celebrity” readers including Miss Virginia, and members of the CCCH nursing staff and Roanoke City Library staff.The event will take place:

Where: 902 S. Jefferson St. and 1101 First St., Roanoke, VA (CCCH pediatric clinic locations)
Interview and photo opportunities will be available. Miss Virginia will read at 3 p.m. at the Jefferson St. location.
